August ’11 – NZ blogs sitemeter ranking

Here are the rankings of New Zealand blogs with publicly available statistics for August 2011. Please note, the system is automatic and relies on blogs having sitemeters which allow public access to the stats. There are now over 250 blogs on the list. However, there is a bit of a turnover as I am removing blogs which no longer exist or no longer allow public access to their stats.

I have listed the blogs in the table below, together with monthly visits and page view numbers for August, 2011.

Meanwhile I am still keen to hear of any other blogs with publicly available sitemeter or visitor stats that I have missed. Contact me if you know of any or wish help adding publicly available stats to your bog.

  1. Thanks Ken! 69, a fitting start! Ha!

  2. Just wondering, how would you go about making these figures public on a WordPress.org blog?

  3. I assume you are asking about making the stats for your own blog available.

It requires installing aq counter (Stacounter or Sitemeter are the most ocnvenient – but there are others) and then ensuring there is public access so I can access them automatically.

Have a look at April ’11 – NZ blogs sitemeter ranking has aq few links

If you have toruble once installing me send me an email and I will help.

  4. Just wondering what happened to Rugby Tips? It gets way more views than 21 in a month. It is usually around 50th position.

  5. Thanks for lettin me know Scotty. I will get on to this tomorrow.

  6. Scotty – the link I have for your stats is at Sitemeter Rugby Tips

    That shows 22 for August.

However, I think you must have made some changes at your blog which obliterated that widget (I can’t see it) and the numbers have dropped sharply since May.

Is it possible to adjust one of your current stats widgets to allow public access?

if so send me the link and I will put it in the database.
    Thanks.

  7. where is public address?

  8. Doug, as I explain in the post, this list is automatic and relies on publicly available stats. These are provided by installed meters such as statcounter or sitemeter (there are others).

Last time I checked Public Address did not have such an ability.

Let me knwo if things have changed. All I need is the web address.

  9. Hey Ken,

I have added the Sitemeter back to my website, I am not sure what happened there. I am unsure how to make any of the counters or stats widgets public, although Sitemeter stats are. Does this matter? It has been going quite well in recent weeks.

    Cheers
    Scotty

  10. Does Statcounter (or any of the others) count your own views? (I’d presume not, but then they don’t seem to say…)

  11. Generally not eyenicr. Although I think some counters give the option oif inclusion.

One may have to tick or untick a box.
