New Zealand happy – some preachers upset!

I reckon the “Rapture” may have come in New Zealand on Sunday Night.

However, it proved to be another failure for Harold Camping who had predicted the end of the world by then. He said last September:

“The end is going to come very, very quietly probably within the next month. It will happen, that is, by October 21.”

Since then Camping has kept well clear of the press – although I get the impression that after three failed attempts at prediction there were very few reporters hanging around outside his door.

However, there is now a report that he has retired from this whole business. According to the Chrsitian News (see Harold Camping Exclusive: Family Radio Founder Retires; Doomsday ‘Prophet’ No Longer Able to Work):

“Harold Camping, who predicted Oct. 21 to be the day Christians would be caught up to heaven and that God would judge the world, said on Oct. 16 that he is no longer able to lead Family Radio Stations, Inc. or his ministry, and his wife has confirmed that the 90-year-old radio evangelist has retired, a documentarian close to Camping told The Christian Post in an exclusive interview.”

But what about this?

Apparently some preachers were upset that the world didn’t end last weeked. The newspaper reports “they were all disappointed that Christ did not come”

With friends like this!

The magic, invisible sky-daddy is no doubt just testing the faith of the true believers out there. Or something like that.

  2. Hhhhahahahahahahaha! It’s truly pathetic to witness the caricatures of humanity that atheists have been reduced to because of their resistance to Truth. They perish – without even knowing why. The End that is predicted, despite mangling of the prophecy by ignoramuses, can still be discerned as not the dissolution of this celestial globe – but rather the destruction of spiritual egos that prove themselves useless for further development. This process is now practically complete and atheists still think it is to be awaited! Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Today, we now see atheists openly declaring that there is no such thing as free will, or consciousness – or even the self. And that at best that these are delusions. They don’t explain who is experiencing these delusions if the self doesn’t really exist. On top of all this they reject the Principle of Causality. This is unmistakable evidence that they are now at that threshold which once crossed in consciousness condemns the ego to PERMANENT oblivion. MANY have already crossed this threshold! This is the explanation of the prophecies. Spiritual writings, IN THE FIRST PLACE, speak of spiritual events – which always have an impact upon matter as well. But the nature of the manifestation in matter is OUTWARDLY different from the spiritual event itself; just as the information and programs one interacts with on a computer screen is quite different OUTWARDLY from the bits shuttling about in machine language form in the electronics of the computer. All this is EASILY understandable – but not to the dull-witted atheists who must be spoon-fed even the simplest things; and may still not understand any of it even then. Hahahahahahahahahahahaah!

Hahahahahahahhaha! What did I just say! The explanation is already completed and he’s still asking me to explain. Just as the End Times prophecies are almost completely fulfilled and atheists are still looking for evidence of them. Similar to when Christ was being asked for signs to prove who He was. I repeat His words: “No sign shall be given to this evil generation!”

And, no, I’m not a member of ANY organised religious grouping – though I happily acknowledge any truth to the found in their Scriptures.

Well yes. That’s the part that appeals to me.
What prophecies “End Time” or otherwise are you referring to?
Are they linear? Is the Sisko truly of Bajor?

…though I happily acknowledge any truth to the found in their Scriptures…

That’s a great relief to us all.
Which scriptures do you refer to? Of which Vedic?

I respect truth – in WHATEVER guise it manifests: scientific, religious, philosophical or whatever else. You should learn to do the same. And now I must take my leave of you for a while. Busy, busy.

Things are ALWAYS weird around people who deny the Principle of Causality and claim they have no free will or consciousness – or even a sense of self! That’s what it’s like in the Twilight Zone and intellectual Darkness of Atheism. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahah!

If you have a specific question about End Time prophecies I’m happy to address that. But what would be the point of supplying you with a limitless amount of detail regarding them – especially when it is quite clear that you, being an atheist, lack the most basic requirement for grasping them? Nevertheless I’ll answer SPECIFIC questions for the record.

    Dear Laughing Stock.

I’m a credentialed behavioral scientist, which is easy to check, as I’m not writing incognito like you.

I think “Mother Goose” would describe you fairly well. Lots of hissing and cackling, sticking your neck out, ruffling your feathers and flying all over the place.

If you’re a credentialed particle physicist then I am also the Queen of England. I don’t think I am, but I am willing to be proved wrong. It could be an interesting, if rather tedious life.

BTW, please try to be original and use some examples of fallacious reasoning that William Lane Craig has not yet used. I realize that this might be difficult, but it would be a lot less boring, don’t you think?

Here’s a couple of primers that might help.

If you look carefully you might be able to find one or two that have yet to be used by your hero.

“In the standard model of particle physics (which uses the framework of quantum field theory where mass is a measure of part of the energy content of a particle), mass for fundamental particles can be obtained via particular interactions among quantum fields. Massless particles propagating in a non-trivial vacuum can give these particles an apparent mass-energy. There are other mechanisms for the appearance of what we ultimately interpret as mass in theories beyond the standard model of particle physics. The issue of the fundamental nature of inertia has become a technical one, which can no longer be argued based on “first principles” mechanics. Physicists have wrangled a lot of the unexplained postulates of classical mechanics into a fewer number of unexplained postulates in our more fundamental theories.”

“Scientists are looking at the Pioneer 10 mission and saying that the probe started slowing when it went past jupiter . It was getting further from any gravitational pull, especially from the sun. It should have been at a final constant speed and there was no gravitational source to slow it. So scientists are looking at dark energy that is being used to explain the same problem with expanding galaxies. However some are looking to modified newtonian dynamics and saying the Newton’s standard law is not valid at extremes of “low acceleration”. But I think it may be that we have to rethink the inertia idea.”

    Dear Ha Ha.

Sam Harris argues that consciousness is an emergent property, not an “illusion”. You are suffering from quote mining delusions again.

I do not feel under any obligation to accept the beliefs of other scientists unless I am persuaded by their logic. If they are experts in a different area then there is no guarantee that they have sufficient understanding of my area of expertise and we can amically agree to differ until we have a jointly understood vocabularly and theoretical basis. This is how science works.

This is not how religion works, of course.

    Hugs and kisses.

    Dear Giggle Boy.

I also feel no obligation to conform to the beliefs of other atheists, either. There are millions of them, and they have all kinds of ideas and beliefs. If their ideas are persuasive then I will accept them. If I believe I lack sufficient background to assess them then I will reserve judgement until I do. If someone expresses and idea that I believe has no merit then I will reject it, no matter how many other ideas expounded by that particular person that I accept.

I have no “heros”. I merely have people whose work I respect. Since nobody is perfect and no-one can know everything about everything, I never blindly accept everything that anyone says, no matter how much I might like, admire or respect them.

I can understand why you might fail to understand this way of looking at things. After all, you are working from within the framework of religious absolutes. This authoritarian way of thinking is foreign to the way most atheists work. Of course, there are exceptions. There are exceptions to everything – except death.
