July ’14 – NZ blogs sitemeter ranking

 get-1000-visits-a-dayImage Credit: Learn Blog Tips

There are now over 300 blogs on the list, although I am weeding out those which are no longer active or have removed public access to sitemeters. (Let me know if I weed out yours by mistake, or get your stats wrong).

Every month I get queries from people wanting their own blog included. I encourage and am happy to respond to queries but have prepared a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) people can check out. Have a look at NZ Blog Rankings FAQ. This is particularly helpful to those wondering how to set up sitemeters.

Please note, the system is automatic and relies on blogs having sitemeters which allow public access to the stats.

Here are the rankings of New Zealand blogs with publicly available statistics for July 2014. Ranking is by visit numbers. I have listed the blogs in the table below, together with monthly visits and page view numbers.

Meanwhile I am still keen to hear of any other blogs with publicly available sitemeter or visitor stats that I have missed. Contact me if you know of any or wish help adding publicly available stats to your bog.

  1. Reblogged this on Talking Auckland and commented:
Up two places to 40th for July with some solid runs in the second half of July. Also seems August is going to be a solid month as well.

Again I would like to thank readers for visiting and commenting at Talking Auckland. As always guest posts and feedback are welcome 🙂

  2. I’ve long been fascinated how, despite vast differences in activity month to month, I still seem to land up in roughly the same place. I finally got around to graphing it – turns out my section is roughtly exponential, meaning moving only a few places requires an order of magnitude change in viewers, which I can’t seem to manage.

I did beat the sciblogs version of your site this time though. 😛

  3. Um, Cycling in Chch only 100 views?! I think not; it typically averages ~5-6000 and last month was no different; my own stats have it well up on June. What’s going on?

  4. I’ll check that later Lenny. At the moment your Sitemeter stats are showing unavailable and you don’t appear to allow public access to your statcounter stats – at least from your web site.

Sitemeter continues to have problems and many people are switching to statcounter because of this.

I will have to check the database to see if there are any problems at this end.

  5. Lenny – just confirmed your sitemeter is showing zero values. I adivse you to switch to Statcounter as you seem to have it installed. Could you make the stas there publicly accesssible and send me the URL for them?

If this works I can always change the current ranking table.

  7. A load of horse crap is what these stats are. They are far from the correct analytics of the websites listed above.

How do I Know? because I am a web developer in NZ that’s how I know.
Prove that those are unique views, otherwise this article is only good for the trash.

  8. Ken i am shocked that you are basing these stats from the sitemeter which is a total fraud.

The only way you can prove these would be to post a copy of their analytics account info.

You sir no nothing at all about site rank

  9. Lenny I advise you ignore this know-it-al who does not even know the basics of site rank and statistics. I suggest you do not use the stat counter but rather use google analytics if you want a proper picture.

This guy is full of crap.

  10. Oryan, I look forward to your alternative ranking using Google Analytics. I am serious because I agree that, if it is possible, it may produce a more accurate ranking. But until you show it is possible by example I will just carry on with the relatively inadequate results provided by Statcounter, Sitemeter, Extreme, etc., which do enable public access.
