January ’11 – NZ blogs sitemeter ranking

I have noticed lately that there are usually quite a few  click throughs from this monthly NZ blog ranking post to individual blogs. Some people are obviously using it as a resource to browse NZ blogs.

Another reason to get your blog on the list!

Here are the rankings of New Zealand blogs with publicly available statistics for January 2011. These rely on blogs having sitemeters which allow public access to the stats. There are currently about 240 blogs on the list.

Yell out if you are not on the list bust wish to be and I will help if I can.

The 7 day rankings are still available any time at NZ blogs average daily visits. It’s worth following a few blogs on the daily visit list. Ranking is a lot more volatile and it’s interesting to watch blogs move up and down and speculate on the reasons.

The blogs are listed in the table below, together with monthly visits and page view numbers for January, 2011.

While monthly rankings don’t change as frequently as the 7 day rankings the longer time may be more useful because small fluctuations average out.

Meanwhile I am still keen to hear of any other blogs with publicly available sitemeter or visitor stats that I have missed. Contact me if you know of any.

  2. Thanks for including me this month. Note to readers: Ben.geek.nz’s debut at #58 is based on less than one week’s January traffic. Looking forward to next month 🙂

  5. Was I trifle too elliptic? You have HT’s stats, I thought? But we’re not in the list…

  6. Sorry Gareth. I didn’t get the hint.

And yes I seem to have had a senior moment and didn’t copy all the links from the 7 day spreadsheet (where Hot Topic is currently at 12) to the monthly spreadsheet. I’ll fix that tomorrow and maybe add a note if the data hasn’t changed much.

  7. Ta! (We were #11 last time I looked…)

  8. OK Gareth. That’s fixed. I have amended the list – you would have been no 9. So I have entered you as no 8A. Would have been too difficult to shift everyone down one.

  9. Hey,

I can’t see your 7 day rankings, I was wondering if

has been added to the rankings or not?

  10. Yes, Aaron, and it’s showing now (currently 94).

The problem with Google spreadsheets is that they seem to renew themselves hourly (rather than 5 minutes as they claim). This means there can be a bit of a wait when the input data changes.

I can go in to the spreadsheet and get it to renew – but I wish there was an easier way for keeping it showing.

  12. Thanks, Teacher Trainee. Your blog’s now in the database but will take a few days to show data.
